Learning Objectives
The Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CNE activity. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the safety and efficacy features of taxanes, as shown in clinical studies examining breast, lung, and prostate cancer treatment.
  • Develop up-to-date and individualized clinical management strategies to maximize the benefit of chemotherapeutic regimens and minimize side effects in patients with cancer.
  • Describe the clinical implications of drug administration for breast, lung, and prostate cancer treatment, including dose, schedule/ sequence, and cycle duration.
  • Identify potential long-term complications that may arise from adjuvant taxane therapy.
  • Implement nursing strategies for in-patient and out-patient settings to prevent, identify, and manage adverse events.

Intended Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of oncology nurses and nurse practitioners. There are no prerequisites for attendees.
